Stop eating large meals
Large meals could be the main reason for your heartburn, mainly if you eat them at night. As we mentioned earlier, a slower gastric emptying would increase your chance of acid reflux because it causes a backflow of gastric contents up to the esophagus. If you eat smaller meals and avoid lying down immediately after eating, you will give your stomach more time to process food, digest it, and have a normal gastric emptying.
