Personality changes
Personality changes are more common in tumors located in the frontal lobe because in this area our brain controls our behavior, our emotions, our perception of what’s right, bad, and the importance of morality. Therefore, people with a brain tumor in the frontal lobe might start losing their inhibitions or social restraints; they might start behaving in unacceptable ways, become irritable or aggressive, or become depressed and anxious with sudden mood swings. These symptoms should be distinguished from those emotional and behavioral changes resulting from a diagnosis of a brain tumor or brain cancer, which is a striking life event that would take its toll on a patient’s personality.
