Once again, the frontal and temporal lobe are the ones usually involved with speech and communication problems caused by brain tumors. There are too many types of communication issues that may arise from a brain tumor. The most common is dysphasia, which is a difficulty to produce language that does not involve a loss of intellect. You might have problems pronouncing certain words, confuse opposite terms, and in severe cases, you might only be able to express a few words. You might also have a hard time understanding the spoken language, experience changes in your vocal cords, tongue, or facial muscles that do not allow you to communicate correctly, and in some cases you might have cognitive problems (as in attention, memory, and social problems) that will interfere with your normal speech and communication.
