Diabetes symptoms
Chronic pancreatitis often causes progressive destruction of the pancreatic tissue. As it happens, the normal function of the pancreas is impaired. Thus, one of the consequences of pancreatitis is diabetes because pancreatic beta cells are the ones synthesizing and secreting insulin to the bloodstream. The early symptoms of diabetes are increased hunger, increased thirst and urination, fatigue, and dry mouth.
