Turkey meat is sweet and a favorite for many eat lovers. However, it has high purine levels than most birds. Turkey and goose are directly linked to gout because of the quick deposit of the crystals on different body organs. Chicken and duck are safe options if you must have meat in your diet. It is all about bad fat and excess cholesterol in the body. While the two are considered safe, you should also be keen on specific body parts; the skin and breast have higher purine levels than other body parts. Leg meat is safest for chicken. But this is still not an option for turkey and goose. Avoid the wild meat at all costs.
