Anemia
Anemia in colon cancer is caused by the internal bleeding and as a consequence of cancer itself. It is a low hemoglobin count in the blood, and it usually causes a pale skin tone, low energy, lightheadedness, and fainting in severe cases. However, many other patients may have very low levels of hemoglobin without giving out any symptoms. Anemia severity is usually related to the progression of the diseases and might be additional causes adding up to it. It is diagnosed through a blood test and should be attended by a doctor, usually with medications and nutritional changes.
