Site of the lesion
In men, melanomas are mostly seen in the trunk. In female, it can be the lower limbs. They are more common than melanomas of the palm of the hand and sole of the feet. They are rare in the mucocutaneous junctions and perianal region. Acral lentiginous melanoma may appear in the palms of the hand and soles of the foot or beneath the nail, but they are rare.
