Infrequent symptoms
The patient may also complain about nausea without vomiting, eye pain, photophobia, chest pain, cough, and anorexia, periorbital edema. They are infrequent symptoms and point towards a complication caused by EBV infection.
Hoagland sign
It consists of bilateral edema of the upper lid of the eyes, and one of the early signs in infectious mononucleosis patients.
