Meig’s syndrome
It is characterized by the presence of right-sided hydrothorax (fluid in the thoracic cavity) and ascites (fluid in the abdominal cavity) associated with ovarian tumors such as thecoma, fibroma Brenner tumor, and Granulosa cell tumor. After removal, both hydrothorax and ascites subside. Due to hydrothorax, the patient can have breathing difficulty, and due to ascites, the patient can present with gastrointestinal problems. In ascites, the abdomen looks distended, shiny, and the veins are visible. On percussion, there is shifting dullness and fluid thrill.
