(A) Pleural Mesothelioma Symptoms
Pleural mesothelioma involves the lungs (pleura). Symptoms often occur in the chest and cause respiratory problems. Common symptoms of the pleural mesothelioma include;
- Chest pain
- Shortness of breath
- Persistent dry cough or wheezing
- Pleural effusion
- Difficulty swallowing (dysphagia)
- Unexplained weight loss
- Fatigue
- Coughing up blood (hemoptysis)
- Loss of appetite
- Fever and night sweats
- Body aches
The symptoms of pleural mesothelioma resemble flu, bronchitis, pneumonia or lung cancer. Therefore, it is often misdiagnosed.
