Upper gastrointestinal screening
Upper gastrointestinal screening, also known as barium swallow screening, gives a detailed image through x-rays through the upper digestive system. Upper gastrointestinal series allows the doctor or medical professional to have a complete image of patients’ esophagus, stomach, and small intestine. The medical professional asks you to ingest a white fluid having a barium in it. The barium liquid coats the organs of the upper digestive system and makes the ulcers more visible.
