Tachycardia
Rapid pulse or tachycardia often goes along with fever, but even when there is no fever, patients with pancreatitis may have a faster heartbeat. This is because the inflammation of the pancreatic tissue causes an alteration in the volume of blood. Along with vomiting and other fluid losses, there’s not enough blood, and the heart counters this condition by increasing the frequency of the heartbeat.
