Hepatosplenomegaly
This is often seen in the late stage of the disease, and the enlarged spleen and liver can then be palpated on the abdominal examination. The spleen is usually tender on palpation, and the enlargement of spleen returns to normal in 3 to 4 weeks after infection. Hepatomegaly can cause jaundice, anorexia, and even lead to liver failure in later stages.
