New bleeding after menopause
When patients have already reached their menopause, they should be attentive at any new vaginal bleeding after their last menstrual period. During perimenopause, patients may have irregular periods as a result of the cessation of their menstruation. But after their hormones have changed, there’s no reason why vaginal bleeding should start once again. If you experience a sudden reappearance of vaginal bleeding, you should ask your doctor and get a pap smear as screening for cervical cancer.
